Northstar Jade (11) - Second Thin Stringers Second Quality Stringer / Thin Rod

Jade is Northstar's saturated, fully opaque plant green, here pulled down to 2-3 mm stringer for line work, detail and thin blown applications. Since the reformulation it takes a hotter flame than it used to, but it still prefers a neutral to slightly oxidizing environment and does not like being cooked. It encases well for inside-out work provided you give it a thorough anneal. Second quality stringer carries heavier cosmetic flaws - bubbles, striations and rod-to-rod variation - at a substantial discount off first quality; the glass chemistry is unchanged, so it is ideal wherever the surface gets reworked or encased.
