Pastel Porcelain Pink is a soft pinkish-lavender pastel that stays smooth and glossy in daylight and reads almost like glazed porcelain in rod form. It holds its density at the torch - opaque and creamy right through, without the striations or thin translucent patches that plague a lot of pastels - and Northstar reports no reduction haze, boiling or discoloration, so it is stable enough to be milli safe. Use it where you want a solid pastel that carries without shouting. Odd and second quality rods are the same glass chemistry as first quality, set aside for cosmetic and dimensional variance rather than colour problems. Odd quality is the lighter defect grade - cosmetically imperfect or off-diameter stock. Second quality carries heavier cosmetic flaws, bubbles or striations, which makes it good value for work where the surface gets reworked or the colour ends up encased. Neither grade is available on backorder.
