Northstar Electric Blue Stardust (Light Cobalt over Heavy Blue Stardust) WonderTube (WT073)

Northstar's newest WonderTube pairs NS-19 Light Cobalt over TAG-032 Heavy Blue Stardust, a combination the maker calls Electric Blue Stardust. Light Cobalt is the least saturated of the four cobalt blues Northstar produce, so it can be worked in any flame without altering the color, and Northstar consider it their ideal overlay glass. Underneath it, Heavy Blue Stardust brings a transparent dark sapphire base packed with big, dichro-like aventurine sparkle. First quality is the full-spec tube, sound and consistent, ready to work straight out of the box. Odd quality is cosmetically imperfect or off-diameter with identical glass chemistry. Second quality carries heavier cosmetic flaws - bubbles, striations or surface defects - so it suits work where the surface is reworked or encased rather than left as-is. As with any aventurine, avoid long hot garaging. Northstar report Heavy Blue Stardust is stable in implosions and encasements. This is a brand new combination and Northstar have not yet published a page for it, so the notes above describe the two layers that go into the tube rather than the finished tube.
